On June 29th, 2002, on the waters of the Danube, seven courageous women were ordained Roman Catholic priests, sparking a worldwide movement of “walking the walk” of renewed priestly ministry.
Since that time, hundreds of women and non-binary people have broken unjust, misogynistic church laws in order to obey their authentic calls to priesthood.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the “Danube Seven,” WOC and Roman Catholic Women Priests hosted a roundtable discussion and wine reception in Berkeley, CA, featuring those continue the tradition of prophetic obedience to God’s call.
- What: “Celebrating 20 Years of Prophetic Obedience: Breaking Unjust Laws to Become Priests,” a roundtable discussion and wine reception
- Where: The Badè Museum at the Pacific School of Religion, 1798 Scenic Ave., Berkeley, CA
- Featuring: Rev. Mary Alice Nolan, Rev. Jennifer O’Malley, Rev. Kori Pacyniak, Dr. Jill Peterfeso, and Fr. Anne
Many thanks to our Berkeley members who joined us in celebrating the reality that we are already living into the church we want to see. Watch a video recording of the event here.
