Do you want to get involved with the movement for women’s ordination, but wonder where to start? Join WOC for a conversation about our network of local leaders on February 11! Learn about our “Wildflowers of the Grassroots,” where empowered supporters of ordination justice contribute their unique skills and talents to keep the movement growing and thriving. Our contributions combined will create an abundance of the kind of people power (or flower power!) that our movement needs to sustain itself.
A movement is an ecosystem where every part matters. Whether you can offer 5 minutes every couple of months, a larger one-time commitment, or a consistent amount of time more frequently, we welcome whatever you are able to commit to. We believe in a flexible, seasonal, and of course voluntary model of grassroots commitment. After coming to our introductory Zoom meeting, we’ll give you room to discern what type of role you would like to take on.
Why “wildflowers”?
We consider it an homage to St. Therese of Lisieux, our matron saint of women’s ordination! While we often think of St. Therese as the “little flower,” in her writing she actually referred to herself as a “little wildflower” and once wrote, “I feel in me the vocation of priest!” in her diary.
